Food Pairings

All Edmeades wines pair wonderfully with a variety of dishes. The diversity of the wines across the Edmeades portfolio makes our wines friendly to both simple meals and truly gourmet fare.

Edmeades Folly

This fun wine suggests fun, simply-prepared foods: barbecue, sausages with pasta, burgers, pizza, or roasted chicken. Lamb curry works, as does a creamy pesto pasta with sautéed wild mushrooms. Other great pairings include Merlot & Cherry Cola Lamb Shanks, Spicy Chicken Meatballs, or a Turkish Spiced Eggplant Bruschetta.

Gewurztraminer

The off-dry finish of our Gewurz pairs well with slightly sweet Chinese and Vietnamese fare (think a crispy spring roll), as well as Gewurz’s classic Alsatian partner, the sauerkraut, potato, ham and bacon stew known as choucroute. Or sip it after dinner, with a cool raspberry sorbet. Other great pairings include Roasted Sweet Potatoes, Yellow Tomato & Melon Bruschetta with Mint & Jalapeno, or a Thai Pork Satay.

Zinfandel

Char-broiled burgers, slathered in your favorite sauce, are a natural partner for these robust, fruity Zins. Barbecued chicken, eggplant Parmesan or a rich winter stew of short ribs also are ideal. Game is a classic pairing, as are lentils. Edmeades Zins have a special affinity for goat cheese or smoked Gouda. Other great pairings include Beef Short Rib Tacos, Tri-tip with Zinfandel Sauce, Sweet & Sour Bacon Chutney, or Zinfandel Chili.
